Your fix-it mode is holding your clients back

So many of us start coaching because we want people to feel less overwhelmed, less alone, more fulfilled…and then that beautiful intention leads to an approach that prevents our clients from experiencing real transformation:
We fix.We solve.
We jump in.
We take on the thinking (or the doing!) for the other person.
As the saying goes, impact—not intention—is what matters.
And fixing reinforces low agency, which keeps your clients stuck.
When we offer solutions too quickly, do the heavy lifting, or offer too much, we unintentionally send the message: “You can’t do this on your own.”
Transformational Coaching asks something different of us.
Instead of rescuing, we return power.
Instead of fixing, we facilitate thinking.
Instead of proving an answer, we expand possibility.
If you want to break your fix-it habit, start here: How to Coach Towards Agency. It’s a free resource with moves you can use in your next conversation.
